I've just finished watching vol 1 and realised that i did not buy vol 2 in anticipation of the supposed combined recut of the two movies into one.

Was this just a myth?, or does anybody know if it will be eventally released??

i remember hearing it as well.....then it all went quite:rolleyes: to be honest i dont think alot of people would have time to sit and watch the whole thing in 1 go its about 4 and a half hours long:eek:
i watched it on monday night(just bought both jap premium box set's)
no matter how many times you watch the film its as good as the 1st:clap:

Just a thought, but if they did release it as one film wouldnt it still be on two discs due to the length?

    Thus defeating the object

    Maybe it'll be a reality with HD/Blueray.

I'm not sure having it on two discs would defeat the point as one long film was how tarantino originally intended it to be. In the combined version, scenes will be removed, scenes will be added, while others moved around. Here's the latest news on the combined version from digitalbits.com:

" Also, our sources in the know are telling us that the reason for the delay of Quentin Tarantino's long-awaited Kill Bill: Special Edition DVDs, is that the release rights to the Kill Bill films have left Miramax with the departure of the Brothers Weinstein. This applies to at least Tarantino's edited-together Whole Bloody Affair version, if not the theatrical versions (which as recently as CES were promoted by Buena Vista/Miramax for release on Blu-ray Disc format later in 2006 - click here and look at the fourth picture down). That would mean that any DVD release is going to be handled directly by The Weinstein Company, through their new DVD distribution partner, Genius Products"

I waited over a year for this version, especially are Taratino was quoted by Empire Magazine saying that there would be a major DVD release of this when Vol 1 was released in cinema. Obviously, that's never happened, and the curret DVD releases are bare, at best, just shy of being a vanilla version.

I just bit the bullet last month and got them plus Kingdom of Heaven in the 3 for 30euro offer in HMV.
