What region of Kill Bill is the best to get? I presume it's the r2 Jap versions but is the only difference between the Premium box sets and the single dvd versions are the extra bit and pieces and the film is the same?

Just wanted to make sure before hand.

    Thanks.

IMO, there is no best edition of Kill Bill.

The R2 Jap has a couple of extra scenes and the super-killing-frezy sequence in colour instead of b&w...BUT....it doesn't add the english subs when everyone is talking japanese, so you have to be fast on your subtitles button or leave subs on for the entire film :(

There you go for a comparison link, but you'll have to make your own mind up which one is best.

Thanks for that. The main thing I wanted was the colour but didn't know about the subtitle issue. Leaving subtitles on won't be an issue for me so I'll be trying to souce the Jap versions then.

There is limited speech where titles are required anyway, once you have seen the film, you don't necessarily need to be concerned about turning them on.

There was actually a great pirate version with seamless branching to watch both versions and burnt in subs for the japanese bits. Shame miramax couldn't do this for themselves!

(still wouldn't pay money for a pirate though)
