Having reviewed the specs of the Key Digital MXE card, which a lot of us are keenly waiting, I had a couple of quick questions which I sure someone will know the answer to.

Is the RGB 15pin VGA connector going to work with my JS RGB to VGA convertor which I use for Sky? I'm not clear from the specs as to whether this was an SD or an HD only input.

Are the 2 component inputs both capable of receiving SD signals or just one?

Finally, am I right in thinking both my 525p and 625p current displayed outputs will be scaled to 768p?

    Many thanks, as usual.

    Good questions....

RGBtoVGA in...Don't know. Will have to check when they arrive. I will email MikeTsinberg in the meantime to see what they say

Component inputs. There is one HD capable input that will also accept SD and the other is SD only.

Yes, your 525 and 625P will be scaled to 768P.

Hope this is of some use just now

Any news yet on when this card will be available and whether you have seen any reviews or had a chance to test for yourself.

    It certainly looks promising.

    John,

My understanding is that the card will ship 14 days after HD-Leeza. My first shipment of HD-Leeza's are due from 25th April, provisionally. So I think mid May. Numbers will be limited till June though.

I've been given a date that the Leeza's are shipping but I have not seen any official word from Key so can't say here. Those who have them on order have been informed (p.s. VERY SOON). The man in the know is back Monday so I'll try and let folks know after I have spoken with him if I can tell you.....I'm in Liverpool till late Monday though so might be Tuesday morning.

    Hi Gordon,

I've just seen a post from Mike (Tsinberg?) at Key Digital on the US AVS forums that the card will not be released for another 2 months! That would make it 6 months late from it's original shipping date! I hope it's going to be worth the wait. At least they are working on the SDI to DVI adapter but I guess they won't announce a shipping date for that just yet.

As far as I am aware and I have read that post now too. HD-leeza's shipping (soon...ie you'l be getting a review from owners VERY soon). Pio cards 2weeks after. These units are all initial build and are virtually all for dealer demo.

Then 4 weeks later the stock starts to be released.

That makes roughly 7-8weeks for stock cards.......I'm still hopefull to have demo card before 8 weeks is up! I'll ask nicely.

They are playing crds close to chest on SDI-DVI but I know that it is being worked on as we speak but will have to follow card launch by a month or so.

    Gordon
