What an absolute plonker, to say that I’m gutted is an understatement.
So, I drove away a beautiful example of a 320i M Sport Shadow Edition on Wednesday last week. Alpine white and looks the NUTS. Go shopping on Saturday and was distracted by some issues with the parking barrier on exit of the multi storey and didn’t notice the raised kerb bending inward towards the car on exit. Cue me scuffing the shiz of my 19” alloy and spending the rest of the day just being a very quiet individual.
Took the car to a local alloy specialist today and they have said it can’t even be repaired as they can tell all four alloys have had relatively poor smart repairs carried out on them already. From their POV, I either need to have it out with the BMW dealer for selling the car with poorly refurbed wheels, or I’m looking at buying a new wheel altogether at around £680
Personally I don’t think BMW will say much other than try to sell me a new wheel at RRP and am pending a response from the salesman I worked with (as the service dept weren’t interested).
I’ve had a look around for some 704M wheels and they are pricey beasts. The more I think of it the more that’s likely the road I’ll need to go down.
So mad at myself for it!
(Just to be clear, I’d happily pay for a repair if that were possible!)
