    I am brand new to home cinema setups and at the weekend purchased the following from Richer Sounds:

    Kenwood KRF V5050D £179
    Eltax Silverado Speakers £120 (£199*) Price matched plus 10%
    * Richer Sounds instore price
    Gale SW5 Subwoofer £60

    The equipment is only for a small room and I am happy with the silverado speakers because they blend into the room quite well.

    I was wondering though if I have made agood choice with regards to Kenwood, to me it sounds ok but then being a newbie I don't realy know what what should sound like if u know what i mean.

    I was going to purchase the Sony STRDE475 SIlver Amp (can't find any reviews though) because it looked very nice and would match my silver equipement however the assistant advised that the kenwood would be better.

    Basically what I therefore wish to ask is the Kenwood okay or can I get a better sounding/looks nicer amp for around the £200 mark.

    Any help appreciated, I have 12 days left to return Kenwood if I am unhappy.

    I bought a 5050 in july and i've been very very happy with it. my only quibble with it was that it didn't seem loud enough at times (but that was most likely down to the senistivety of the speakers i chose to match it with!!)

    But all in all very happy with it, if you have any questions then get in touch and i'll try and help you.

    I bought my KRF-V5050d back in 2001, and it has served me very well, it packs a punch driving 100 watts at any speaker combination you care to connect to it, have recently bought a pair of Cambridge Audio SX50's for the front, and a CA Minx Min 22 for the centre, although I'm looking to change the AVR for Yamaha pretty soon, just enjoy it!
