I found this product after reading through the "Progressive DVD player Shootout 2" mentioned an AVSforum. Kenwood has a player in the states called the DV-5700. I had a look through the European websites and found the new DVF-9050. It appears to be the European version of the 5700. The 5700 uses the matsu****a(panasonic) mpeg decoder which does not have the Chroma Bug. So, I would assume that the 9050 does not have it either.

DVD-Audio, Faroudja DCDi deinterlacer, no chroma bug. Sounds great.

The big question is, what does it take for it to do PAL progressive, 576p?

Anybody have any knowledge of this player? Looks very appealing on paper. I'd rather have it than a Skyworth I think. We'll just have see how much it costs. Still waiting to see the Pioneer DV-747 as well.

I don't think people realise the importance of the Sage/Faroudja de-interlacing chip found in this player.
