the question is will this work ok, or is the amp too underpowered?

can i get the speakers then upgrade the amp later, as i already have the amp.

looked into it a bit more but still unsure what to do. can i use the pre outs on the 2400 to another amp to power the 40's. ive got kef 2005.3 running on the amp at the minute.
and if i use pre outs do u still get surround sound on the other speakers.

i do electronics for a job but unfortunately we dont do stereos, anyone know any good sites where i could actually get into techinical info so i dont sound so stupid in the future?
