Thinking of upgrading my mission bipoles.

Is it true that these come with a 'sock' that can be dyed to match decor? Setup is in the living room and my wife refuses to have black boxes on the walls which limits options somewhat.

Alternatively, does anyone know where white speaker cloth can be obtained from?

    Cheers
    Rob.

Yeah comes with a sock that can be removed, although you can't dye a black sock to a lighter colour!

Remove and store the sock, and buy some decor matching cloth, and tape round the back.

What amp have you got? They're pretty tough to drive (4Ohm)#

and what colour cloth do you need?

I do belive they did do them in white as well.... when I got my pair the plan was to change the colour! Never did happen and I've got kind of use to them now. Very good speakers!

I would buy the black version, and replace the black sock with some white grille cloth.

The white versions are harder to sell. What man likes white speakers? :)

The TDM's come in black and white, you can buy either black or white socks from Kef for about 20.00, the whites can be dyed with relative ease (as is their design)
Ignore the disparagers, a pair of white TDM's is better than no TDM's and IMHO alot better than the vast majority of other BLACK rear channel speakers (performance wise).
White or black the TDM's are just dandy.

    Regards

    Steve.

Walls are cream at moment and will probably never be a dark colour - wife wants surround speakers to be as discrete as possible and blend in, so cream dyed material will be required.

Looking to get a Primare A30.5 to match the A30.1 integrated hifi amp driving the fronts so 4ohm load will not be a problem.

Any idea where you can get speaker cloth from?

    Cheers
    Rob.

    Steve,

Thanks for the reply. That confirms what I had heard.

I think Kef have recently stopped making them but keep spares for several years. Will give them a call re the socks.

Have you ever heard them with Nautilus front / centre? Is that a combo that would gel?

I don't care about the colour but my wife does - if they are white I can get a pair, if they are black I get an argument...........

    Cheers
    Rob.

Paid £300 for them, ex-demo but with 2 years warranty. I think they retail for £650 (or maybe upto £800) actual pricing was sketchy.

Discontinued line, and NHT are no longer imported to the UK. Shame, as the NHT 1.5 & Superzero's were very nice speakers.

I have two pairs of white ones and they look VERY neet. ALL of the rest of my system is black but I still like the white ones best. They were 'invisible' on my old white walls. In my new room the plan is to dye the white socks :) White rocks

If white is good enough for a JDM Civic/Integra Type R it is good enough for a pair of speakers.......

With the TDM it is more white socks than white rocks though...
