My elderly Kef THX home cinema speaker system needs upgrading(Purchased new 1998)At present I am using a Monolinth sub as the original Kef gave up two years ago.I like the sound of the new Kef's since they are very slim and will easily fit on the wall.Although the sub seems OK would I be advised to use the Monolinth instead or would this give rise to an unbalanced sound.

Keep your monolith as it will be at least as good if not better than the Kefs. It will not unbalance the sound so no need to worry there. You can buy the T series as individual speakers so by not getting the sub you will be saving a good deal of money as well.

Have you considered the kht9000's?

They were the replacement for the TDM series.
Although much more expensive than the t series, they will give you more of what your used to hearing.

Demo'd the new Q series at the weekend, v good. Also listened to the T series as the dealer had them up and running in their demo room.

Why not track down three 9000's for the front and use something less extravagant on the rears?

Thanks for your reply.Since I think the Monolith is a superb sub then I will keep it.I did not know that the T series was available without the sub.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately space is a premium and with the new home cinema room that I am building the maximum space I have either side of the 92" Bemax screen will only allow for slim, narrow speakers fixing direct to the wall.Obviously larger speakers would no doubt sound better but they would need to be brought out into the room for the best results.
