Just about to stick my toe in the Home Cinema waters with the following setup (I think!)

    Denon AVR 3802
    Denon DVD2800

and ? speakers? I was considering KEFs as they seem to be pretty well made, had good reviews and small enough to keep my girlfriend quiet

Any comments/advice on the above much appreciated, particularly the speakers. And does anyone know a good place to buy online, so far unbeatable.co.uk has come up with the best prices.

    Thanks

    Paul

    zippo4,

I have the setup you are thinking of, except I have the 3801, and can thoroughly recommend it.

It sounds so sweet and powerful, with both music and movies.

    You will not regret it.

Have just listend to this set up today at Seven Oaks in birminghm.

The sound from the speakers was brilliant considering how small they are.

The guy in the shop suggested i listen to the Onkyo av Tx-DS696 which is the same price ase the Dennon only has 5.1 but more power, 5 x 130 have not read any write ups on this amp if any one has let me know.

The Denons deserve better than Crestas. I use the Denon 3300 with Kef Q55.2 / 95.2 C and they work well for movies and music. if you like rock music or dance music you may find the combination a bit too civilised.

If you buying the KEF eggs, get the 3802 or another receiver with variable crossover frequency, as they don´t really go down to 80 hz...
