    Hi All

    I currently have 4 Kef Q15.2 (L,R,LS,RS) and a Q95c (C).

    I am thinking of upgrading to Kef Q1s (L,R), Kef Q compacts (LS,RS) and a Kef Q6c (C).

Will the Q6c be better than the Q95c and will it match the Q1s? I have seen the Q9c but 1) I think the Q6c might be a better match for the Q1s and 2) I don't think the Q9c will fit on top on my TV.

My room is fairly small by the way which is the reason I choose the Qcompact for the rears as they are slightly smaller than my current Q15.2s.

Any advice would be more than welcome

I've read on here before that the Q6 is not able to match up to the Q1's and above.

The only real way to check is to get a demo.

I'd really try to go for the Q9c... if it can fit.

I don't see why not, I have the Q6C running with my Q4's and they match very well. I would have thought the Q9C is overkill for the Q1's, your best bet is to try and demo if you can. :)

    I am running the Q6c

With the Q7's and Q1's and its fine

The Q9c is HUGE and would never fit on my mantel without falling off (too deep)

So had no choice but have to say sounds great.

    Guyb,
Did you go for the Q1, Qc, Q9c/6c set up? Have you tried it out? How was it? I am considering the same set-up!

    Hi BAD Dave

I went for a Q6c for the centre and Q4 for the fronts. I am very, very happy with them.

The Q4 are very, very nice, They are slim floor standing speakers that match the driver size of the Q6c and they sound awesome. They cost me £350 (reduced from £400) as opposed to £200 for the QCompacts or £250 for the Q1 but it is definitely worth spending the extra if you have it.

The Q6c is excellent and a marked improvement of my old Q95c. The clarity of the sound and the bass response is 100% better IMHO.

Overall the sound from my fronts and centre is a lot more involving and exciting. The bass is more defined and refined and the overall sound quality is clearer and kick ass

So, to summarize, I am 100% happy with them

    Thanks for the update guyb.
I currently have kef Q35.2 floorstanders, 95.2 centre and crappy little black ?85.s rears.
I hope to replace these with Q1 (front), Q9c (centre) & Qc (rears).

The reason for changing is that I plan to place a marble topped unit right accross the wall, which means dropping from floorstanding Q35.2 to shelf mounted Q1. I expect proposed centres & rears to be an improvement but I am a bit worried about loss of clarity & bass in dropping from floorstanding Q35.2 to shelf-mounted Q1. My sub should fill in though!

Anyone have any thoughts on Q1?

I know! I need to audition the Q1 but nowhere in Dundee stocks them. I need to buy a pair on approval or borrow a pair from some kindhearted person living locally!
