    Hello guys and girls

My first post so a bit of newbie to these things. Hope I am in the right area :)

I have done a search but I am not sure what issue I have.

    So, my question is:

My Kef sub has developed a noise that is constant Low level hum. It worked fine but all of a sudden its started making this noise. It starts as soon as the power is turned on. With no other connectoons to it just the power lead.

I have moved it to other sockets in the house on a different circuit to see if that changes anything and it doesn't. I have had it 2 years. Doesn't get a lot of use at all so a bit concerned.

    Any Help would be appreciated

    Cheers Rob

Have you tried switching the "Ground IN/OUT" switch to a different position. This may help.

The PSW 2000 does not have the grounding switch as it was only added to later models to correct this humming problem.

The PSW 2000 needs to be grounded with a seperate wire to stop the noise due to an earth loop issue with the sub. There are details on how to do this on the Kef website from what I can remember.

I used to have the same problem and I corrected the issue with a similar mod.
