I was comtemplating purchasing this speaker system for use in conjunction with Pioneer XDE, 3805 and 3910 and would gratefully be interested in hearing others members views on them who have bought :lease: them and perhaps alternatives in the same price range.

I have a set of 5005s in a 6.1 configuration. This is only my first home cinema setup so I am still very much a novice but I am very happy with the performance. I had initially considered getting Eggs but once I heard the 5005s partnered with the Denon 3805 my mind was made up. The one thing I would say is that my choice of speakers was somewhat limited by the fact that I did not want to clutter up our modest sized living room with big speaker cabinets. There may well be better options for similar money if space isn't such an issue for you but for me the 5005s look and sound just right.

    Am having similar thoughts.

Have not seen one review (positive or otherwise) re the 5005's.

They are certainly stylish and sound good to my ears but have been told told to consider a few alternatives.

Which should I go for (bearing in mind I plan use Denon electronics (AVR3805 amp and DVD 3910 DVD player).

    It is Great!

I also use KEF 5005 and Denon 3805.I also want to upgrade my DVD player to 3910. But it is expensive.

Now it is summer here. 3805 is really hot. Do you agree with me

Yes I'm trying to find someone who's selling these as individual speakers as I only want the front three. I've only found Seven oaks at the moment for £180 each. Happy to be PM'd or left on here in case others are interested.

    I auditioned the 5005.2s with a Marantz DV7001 and SR8002.

I am looking for something to replace my Denon DHT550SD for movies and Audiolab/MArantz/Kef Reference for music.

As much as I like Kef's, musically they left me dissappointed and so I plumped for Monitor Audio Radius which gives a better sound musically IMO.

25 per cent off all AV Speaker packages at Sevenoaks at the mo BTW
