really thinking about getting a set to complement a new amp...which im demoing n/week.

i want to keep my bw602`s as fnt l&r but need to upgrade the rest of my spkrs ie ctr, rear l&r and poss ctr rear etc

so should i spend the dosh and get the eggs or are there any other alternatives?...is this the best way to do it? or are there cheaper spkr alternatives ie yammy, etc.

compact spks are the best choice as not a lot of room for bulky spkrs.

You should really think about keeping the centre to match your front left and right.

Eggs, VM1 are about the same price, with Gallio balls coming in slightly higher priced. Other options for compact speakers might be somthing like Missions m7d or the m70 as they are both quite small and both (I think) will wall mount. Or stick with B&W for surronds and get a pair or 2 of DM600 which again wall mount.

Might be worth demoing how well the VM1 goes with the 602s ... 1 might work well as a centre but I'm not sure how closely matched they are in sound quality.

Well I have listened to the Eggs and there is no subsitiute for larger speakers in my opinion.

Having said that, like you I think that in some instances the small size is attractive, but I have got around the problem and would reccomend Artcoustic speakers, they are fantastic and really are attractive.
