I notice that you can pick up a 5.1 KEF egg system for £499 now which sounds like a highly impressive bargain. The thing is, I'm quite happy with my current subwoofer. Are there savings to be made by buying the five eggs separately? And if so, where's the best place (preferably online) to buy?

    Thanks in advance.

£400 for five Mark 2 Eggs from Creative Audio in Shrewsbury but NO mail order - so yes a saving over the full Mark 1 set and better speakers to boot  You could try discounttv.co.uk ?

I've heard KEF are being very strict about discounting and mail order with the new eggs.

Wht not go around local dealers and play them off against each other, usually the larger independant chains (7oaks, audioT, audioX, Superfi, etc) will go fairly low!

I have just been and put a deposit on the Kef 2005.2 package at Audio T locally (they don't keep them in stock?), and they matched creative audio's deal inc substitute sub lead and speaker cable, for £649. So should have them within a week.

    Creative was just too far.

And they will match the price on single speakers etc.

    Hope this helps

Nice to know that Audio T will match Creative's deal. Now to see if my local branch is accommodating as yours!

My local Audio-T pricematched Creative at £649 this saturday just gone - no leads in the deal though (not sure why - to be honest I didn't push it as I wanted better cables than the sort that they would have chucked in free anyway)

Well just arrived home after picking up my Kef 2005.2 package, just got to put it all together now.

Just thought I would mention, that when they said they would match the deal with creative audio I was expecting the leads to be at the same RRP as the creative audio. But just checked the sub lead, and it is 6m and a QED lead with a RRP of £40.

Now maybe they made a mistake, but it is in the invoice as being free with the package on the price match. So guess not.

    Well done audio T.

    Ricky
