    Hello,
I have a reasonable amp and am looking to get the right speakers.
My room is 23' x 14', and was wondering if the Kef eggs will be enough to fill the room, or should i really look for decent floorstanders and rears?

This will be a 50/50 split movies and music.

    Cheers for any advice
    Wil.

For that sized room (and especially since you're interested in music system) I would go for standmounts, say same sized speakers as Kef Q1's. Although I'm not recommending Kef Q1's- just as example.

I wasn't impressed with the kef eggs when I heard them demo-ed. Do you have a particular budget or other constraints?

    Cheers,
    Liam

I was dubious that speaker so small could fill my room, which is fairly large.
    Can anyone recommend some floorstanders/rears/centre

My budget would be around £600 but can move up should the right gear be close to that.

If there are some stunners for £800 I'd go for it...
    Wil

There is an interesting Monitor Audio system that hifibitz are selling for £750 against a normal retail price of £980. This comprises a pair of B4 floorstanders for the front, BFX speakers for the rears plus a matching centre and a subwoofer.

    Details on their website here

The eggs are fine unless you are deaf for the money.

Just try a larger sub or dual 2010's if not enough.

Trust me i've just let go of ref 3.2's and hgs-18 for a kht2005.2.
Granted not as good, but not that much in it really considering the price difference
