I have just taken delivery of a shiny new Pioneer DVD 868. Unfortunately the only location for my centre egg is sitting on top of the DVD player:rolleyes: I know the eggs are shielded but im worried this might effect the picture quality in some way.

This is the only option (as the plasma is too thin)and does not give the option to allow its inbuilt speakers to act as the centre channel...

    Will this be OK??

Yes - placing a speaker on top of your DVD player is going to introduce a plethora of unwanted vibrations on the DVD player that are more than undesirable, and you may find that it deteriorates from PQ and SQ.
