I'm currently using 4 Cresta 1's and Cresta Centre with a Denon 1601 amp.
I'm thinking of upgrading the amp from a "budget" model and would like to get the 2005.2 eggs.
My subwoofer is a Paradigm PDR10 which sounds OK to me but I haven't been able to compare it to anything else.
Would the eggs and sub be a significant improvement over my current set up:confused:
I really need to convince myself and my wife
My wife is all for the eggs as she likes the look of them:rolleyes: :)
    Any advise welcome!

    Listen to them, perhaps?

I'd certainately guess that the eggs are an improvement, but haven't compared the two speakers.

Kef Ben - who visits the forums regularly - might pop in and offer some better advice for you.

I would have thought that it may be a backwards step, full range speakers are normally better that those in a sub sat system, especially the Crestas that were very highly reviewed.

But last sold at £30 per pair, so I'd hadrly call them 'Elaborate' speakers.

The Kef's in my opinion would 'remove the veil' a little from the sound, they will be more articulate and the imaging will be better - clarity will also be much impoved. BUT you will notice a big drop in mid range performance. Sub/sats are always a trade off, but if you have to do it the Kef's are the ones to get!

Ben Miller's comments show the value of judging speakers with your ears and not by the price.

    Thanks for the replies.

I would definitely go for a demo before parting with any cash, but was just wondering what the general consensus is. It seems a shame to replace good speakers for ones that don't offer significant improvements, although cosmetically at least, they are superior. I think my Sub is probably a little unrefined so I'll check out the difference when I have a Demo.

If the crestas only sell for £30 then selling them S/H is not a good option for me, but I'm considering a Denon DM31 for our kitchen/diner, so I could possibly use 2 of the crestas with this.
