    Hi All, 1st post here.

Current kit : Nad 406 amp, 4x kef coda 7 bookshelf speakers, various cd & dvd players.

Impending Divorce means that I'll soon be buying myself a small flat and will once again be able to indulge my liking of Hi fi and home cinema. What I am intending to do is get myself a Kef Coda 80 center speaker and a Dennon AVR1804 reciever (to replace the NAD amp) allowing me into the world of 5.1 cinema.

    My two questions are:

Does anyone with experience of the coda 80 think it'll integrate tonally with my coda 7's?

Can anyone recommend a sub costing up to £300 which will perform well for both music and movies?

    Thanks in advance all.
    :)

I'd be cautious with the Coda 80. It has a metal-dome tweeter, whereas your Coda 7's have a soft tweeter. They are likely to sound tonally dissimilar. The centre you really want is the Coda C, which is matched to your 7's. Might be hard to find, but worth a look in the second-hand market.

Actually your best match will be another Coda 7...... :smashin:

For a new centre speaker, I'd try one of either the Mission M7C2 or Wharfedale Diamond centre's for a (possibly) closer match to your Coda 7's. :)

    Thanks Chaps.

I bought the Kef Coda 80 center as I saw it on a good deal. Will check it out along with my Coda 7's in a friends system this week.

Sub pending cash & flat to put it all in. Thanks.
    :D

Well, as an update for anyone interested, I tried the 80 with the Coda 7's through my friends setup, and it sounded great!, nice detail and seperation, and no obvious tonal differences.

I've now got a flat under offer so a Denon 1804 and Kef PSW2500 will be added soon I hope. :D
