Kef 3005 v Q Acoustic 1010i's

Hey all,

Looking to upgrade my 5.1 set up, these will be connected to my sony 2400es av receiver and will be used whilst watching films on my hw10 projector.

Won't be used much for music maybe total of 5/10 hours a month tops.

My question is are the Kef eggs worth the additional cost on the Q Acoustics.

Size is sort of an issue as i need smallish speakers to put on walls and so they don't take over the room therefore floorstanders are out of the question unfortunately.

Any suggestions other than the two mentioned? I know the two mentioned are highly rated at the moment i favour the Q Acoustics as means £400 atleast in the bank.

my brother got the q acoustics today, upgraded from crappy sattelites.... said the difference is massive.. my brother is very picky.. and i have heard negatives about the kef's

I'm currently looking for some speakers, and been doming a few - definately recommend going for bookshelf not satellites - the 1010i's are superb value for money.

I have also recommended to consider a set of Acoustic Energy Neo's for £499 on ebay (half price)

Hey all i finally went with the Q Acoustic 1010i's and i most say they sound brilliant. 100 times better than my old pioneer xbox 5.1 surround set.

They work well with the amp and with true hd blu rays the sound is brilliant.

I detest the small kefs and have said so on here many times.
They just sound "small".
Oh and incredibly harsh with music, imo.
I'd always say go for bigger speakers if you have a choice, as they'll just sound better.
Satellites do a job if you have no choice (it's amazing how many women rule the roost )

But then, it's just my opinion.

hi, ive got a pair of b&w cdm1se's attached to my naim hi-fi that i really dont use they are 12 years old d'ya think they would be up to the job of fronts in a modern day home cinema system.

Oh, i could never sell them, as you said they are class..with stereo.
anyway ive ordered the 1010i's off superfi £88 the pair x2. still need a center, any suggestions ?

The Q1000 centre was available at £24 on SuperFi a couple of days ago.
Strangely enough, they're out of stock.

Might be worth investigating though.

This was for the 1000C, as opposed to the 1000Ci

I doubt there's anything between the two.
I'm always dubious about so called improvements. It's more marketing, imo.

I have one of the q1000c in cherry from superfi.

I'm looking to move it on as i'm keeping my original centre.

It's about a week or so old and has been opened, tested and re boxed.
