KEF 2005 - Where is the best price?

I'd like to support my local retailer, but at £800 they are taking the mickey....

Can anyone point me to an online / mail order retailer that is offering these at a good price? Best I've found so far is Vickers Hi-Fi at £675, but I'm sure I've seen them mentioned even cheaper than that (more like £620)

Websites preferred so I can browse their other range before calling with my credit card - I'm after an amp / cables as well and will give 1 company all the business if possible......

Please help, I want to get these babies ordered today!

Thanks for that!

Silver is what I'm after. I do like them in black, but the silver is lot more funky. No wife to please, you see! :)

Do Essential AV have a website at all? Even a crap one that I can have a quick browse around? Cheers!

Damnit - just phoned the number from your post, Spython.....

Basically they are calling you a liar (!) They won't deliver and when I said that quite recently (last couple of months) they had quoted someone for delivery and they told me that wasn't them. Not possible. They don't do that!

So I guess KEF has "got to them".... :(

Cheers SPYTHON - like I said, i guess being on the phone to them, I *might* have been from KEF checking up on them! Perhaps I sound suspicious or something....... :(

Anyway, they lost themselves a sale by doing that.......

Also, BOS (that Kingdom88 site) doesn't have stock for another 2 weeks. Not surprised at that price......

So IKONAVS it is. He's just checking stock / delivery from KEF now, and if he has them by the weekend, I'm off up to Worcester to collect 'em. Saves the £60 delivery charge to Wales!!

If anyone wants individual eggs, ICONAVS do them as well, and their floor stands are cheap too. I'm going for 2 pairs of stands. Holding off on the purchase of the extra Egg, although knowing me I'll probably have it anyway (£86, BTW for an extra egg) and if you buy 2 pairs of stands, £60 per pair......

(now I wonder if the stands will fit in my car. Might have to drive back with the roof down!)

Yup - I'm assured via email that it is :)

Speak to Mark Bridgewater and mention the guy from Cardiff who is coming to collect..... :)

What are the chances that KEF send their heavies in to "sort out" IKON by the time I buy my speakers?

Icon aren't doing mail order.

I'm collecting. Although they will put them on one of their engineer's vans as a kind of "delivery" option, but they won't "courier" if you see what I mean........

:)

Surely KEF are acting in a highly uncompetitive way. I hear M&K falsely hold up their prices in the same way too.

Increasing everytime someone on the forum publicises their discounting.

RPM is still allowed on hifi goods

I'm afraid it is the old chestnut about having to dem the product physically to the customer in the showroom, and then and only then can they be courier delivered! Not really practical is most cases. The situation with KHT is VERY strict and for most dealers it is really not worth risking the entire account! However this used to be the case with Mission FS2 but that changed as the product matured, so attitudes may be softening (Slowly!)
