KEF 2005 - or not ???

I get paid tomorrow (hurah), and I am considering the KEF KHT 2005 package - because the wife will actually allow them into the living room, before I order them I wanted to make sure that there
was no real alternative..........

I need the speakers to be of a comparable sound quality and size,
I have also heard that the PSW2000 sub is a bit underpowered, my lounge is 14' by 12' - will it be strong enough - or should I consider another speaker package and get a decent sub (CHT10???)

I will be paying £660 delivered for the KEF's

HELP.......

I have got the Kefs and am happy with them from a sound point of view. They are fairly obvious though and do looks a bit "bug-eyed", particulary the surrounds.

The others that you should apparently consider are the Gallo Micros (more money, but apparently a lot better and more discreet). I haven't heard them, but everyone seems to be raving about them. See the Speakers forum and the power buy forum.

If you have the cash then I think the Gallos should be the priority.

If not, then you can either buy your package as it is, or just buy the speakers seperately and buy the CHT10 as the sub.
