Thinking about getting the above kit. Is it a good combination or are there better options out there.

Anyone know the cheapest place to buy these?

    Info/advice appreciated

    Cheers

Of course the Kefs should read 2005.2

By the way, is it possible to add an additional separate cd player to the AV reciever in addition to the DVD player so that I can get the best out of CDs (as DVD players are all usually poor at playing CDs)

Serpico and Scollops have demoed similar kit and deided to Buy HK amps 507/AVR5550 DVD 506/DVD25 and infintiy Orues speakers.
For the kit you mention Look at Infinity Oreus speakers and HK 505 amp + 506 DVD
the 507 is 7.1 amp and a bit more than the Denon, Avsales a forum sponsor have a deal on the 507+506+7.1 Oreus speakers, depending on budget of course.

I have the original Kef KHT2005 speakers with an extra speaker for 6.1 driven by a Denon AVR 2802 receiver, and can confidently predict that you will not be disappointed!!
The sound is powerful, bold, detailed and has excellent mid range. Panning is excellent.
It should be even better with the kit you are considering as the sub is supposedly improved and the receiver was What Hi-fi's product of the year!!

Go buy some kit, you'll love it!!!!:smashin:

Have Kef 2005.1s, Denons 3803 and 2900 (2900 connected to amp by analogue cables for CD playback) - best set up i've ever had. The combination you quote should be nearly or as good since the amps and DVD players share many components.
