    Hi there,

I plan to get the Kef 2005.2 soon and I need an AV receiver to match them. I've read that they are power-hungry, and they benefit from a good power supply, so I am very much interested in what receiver have you guys matched them against, and any recommendations, along the same price level.
(By that I mean I am looking for a receiver along the lines of £350-£800, something like that)

    Many thanks!
    J.

I currently use the eggs with a pioneer AX5Ai , but those soon to be replaced by the mission m-cubes.

I've used my 2005.2's in 7.1 format with a Denon AVC-A10SE and am currently using a Denon AVC-A11SR. Both Amp's drive the speakers and have never even hinted at running out of steam.

Sound Quality from both amp/speaker combo's is awsome.

Both Amp's were bought second hand for £450 and £550 respectively.

Thanks, may I ask how you mount them, do you have them on stands, on the wall etc?

IMHO I would steer clear of Yamaha Amps at the cheap end of your budget.. sound is "thin" with these (Kef 2005.1's)

They are all wall mounted, with the exception of the Center which lives on top of the TV .

I have my Kef Q series (Q4’s, Q-compacts, Q6C) run by a Yamaha 750SE and it is a wonderful pairing. I’d definitely recommend you demo one. However, it is an amp only (no tuner).

I have set up mine with a Q6C as center, relegating the original center to surround back (in a 6.1 set-up) all being driven by a Yamaha RXV-1400. Very happy with the performance; but I beleieve they can handle a bit more power. I would go for a Yamaha 2500 if I was setting up the system now. If your budget can go that far, replace the center with something like the Q6, you get much better dialogue and front sound stage. By the way mine are all wall mounted with the exception of the center back and front that are shelf mounted.
