Keene IR Distribution Amp + Onkyo TX-SR507

I'm using this Keene IR distribution amp

Keene Electronics

With the panel mount IR receiver.

I bought the above Onkyo AV receiver and of course the remote control won't work through the distribution kit.

When looking through the onkyo manual I discovered that there is a remote control input on the rear panel (number 10 on the diagram)

http://www.eu.onkyo.com/dl/1334036/Manual_TX-SR507_English.pdf

So if i connect a cable with a 3.5mm jack at each end to IR unit and the socket on the rear of the Onkyo will I have a working remote control?

OR

Do I need to invest in more gear like a wideband IR receiver?

Thanks,

Philip

Hi there,
The keene system is wired slightly differently from other systems and you will need to use ir emitters ( single or flood) for the system to be controlled. Regards Shorty.

Ok so I have tried the standard IR emitters supplied with the Keene kit and this didn't work.
If hardwiring the distribution box to the Onkyo won't work then what are my options.
Does anyone else make a distribution kit that would work?
