    Hi all ,

My grandfather has a Sony KDL32U2000. Because of his impaired hearing he uses a set of powered external speakers placed by him rather than use the ones in the set. When he first powers up the TV and the external speakers you get a series of "Pops" , every few seconds , from the speakers. If you unplug the cable and then reconnect it (at the headphone connection) the pops then go away.

Changing the sequence that you turn the items on does not help. Disabling the internal speakers also does not help. The only way the "pops" go away is if the speakers are disconnected then reconnected. Interestingly the speaker cable is quite long and is on an extension. If you make the break on the extension it does not resolve the problem, the disconnect/reconnect must be at the headphone connection on the TV itself. Any ideas what this may be and how we can avoid having to do the same procedure everytime the TV gets turned on ?

    Many thanks ,

    Paul
