I have a Sony LCD TV, KDL-37P3020 bought from new. From very early on, I have had intermittent problems whereby the TV does not respond to the remote control for upto 30 seconds after switch on. After the TV "warms up", the remote control works fine.
    Has anybody experienced this problem?
    What action fixed the problem?

    Hi Puzzled

I have the same set in 32" and also have periodic moments where the remote doesn't appear to respond, it sounds crazy but I opted for some fresh Duracell's and it's behaved ever since, I don't think it's the most sensitive of sensors mind on the TV itself- it may be worth giving Sony support a call to see if it's a known issue, they may ask you if anything is present that interferes with the signal.
Whilst your there some settings for you to try, put BBE VIVA on with treble at +1 and Bass at default then have a blast with these:

    User Menu Settings
Picture Mode : Standard (**Note each setting (Vivid, Standard, Cinema, are slightly different by default.)
Backlight: 6 (really turns this into an impressive display. its just right)
Contrast: 95 (there really isnt a reason to have it lower or higher)
Brightness : 52 ( 52 hits the mark for no loss of shadow detail)
    Color : 49
    Color Temperature : Neutral
Sharpness : 6 (for a nice sharp image while maintaining a very clean picture. any higher and the image will begin to give glowing edges, and any lower the image may be too soft for some. 6 is perfect.)
    Noise Reduction : Off
    Advanced Settings
Advanced CE : OFF (I used to be a fan but ive realized ACE dims whites and alters skin tones to almost pale)

    Cheers

    Chris

    Chris,

Thank you for the tips. I have not tried changing the batteries but I did try an identical remote control from a friend but there was no change in the performance.

    Regards,
    Madhu
