    Hi
I've connected my Sony KDEP37XS1 with the Sony RDRHX1000 dvd recorder with 1 scart through smartlink, but when I go to the digital menu through the TV to record a programme through the timer facility and it doesn;t record.
A message apperars on the tv that I should enable the timer on the vcr as well, but how and why?
I'm already telling the tv to record a certain progamme and the time is start/end time is already specified?

    Thanks

I'm using the same combo and not getting that message. It records fine. Have you got the scart on the TV enabled as smartlink as I think only one of the scarts can be designated for the smartlink connection.

I think scarts 2 and 3 are smartlink enabled.
Do you have to set anything on the recorder? I don't think so.

Yes, i'm eager to find out what you think of the SOny too. I've been eyeing it for a long time and am tempted to buy one. Please let us know.

I didn't have to set anything on the recorder, but when I switched it on for the first time it copied the tuner settings from the TV confirming that smartlink was enabled and working. By the way, I think the TV is fantastic and the picture viewed through the RDRHX1000 with progressive scan enabled is superb with rich colour and clarity.

Recording freeview through the epg works fine but there doesn't seem to be an option to pad out the recording. Because of this I missed the end of a program the other day. However, it is very simple to manually set the timer from within the epg on the TV without touching the recorder at all and this is how I have been doing it lately.

I've heard that you have to see av1 out on the recorder to video and not RGB for this to work?
