Any advice please on which one to buy (to sadly replace a Tosh 32" w/s). I know the Sony costs more but is it worth the extra cost? Will be used with Tosh VCR, Hitachi DVD, Sony AMP and Mission speakers.

Thanks everyone

The Philips 28DW6557 got 5 stars in Home Entertainment magazine, a best buy award in What Video and was voted TV of the Year by Home Cinema Choice so I guess you could say the magazines liked it!

As a previous Tosh ZD26P and a current ownner of the DW6557 for 6 months, I can fully recommend the Phillips !!!

Go for it, you wont regret it!

Excellent picture and sound plus iDTV. 2 RGB Scart

Any questions, I am willing to answer :smashin:

didn't the magazines say it had 1 rgb scart? has the spec changed?

1 RGB Scart is less of an issue with an IDTV

Yes most mags state that there is 1 RGB scart (but do they actually test the TV???) and the manual says that Scart 1 is RGB.

(But I think what video and TV said it had 2 RGB in a review in Nov 2002 )

And ...

both scarts have the RGB sign (three dots in a triangular fashion)

and I see no strange colours when I connect my DVD outputting RGB to Scart 2 (supposedly non RGB) and no difference in image quality between scart 1 and 2 when I use an RGB source

So I believe both scarts are RGB

But see a recent problem that i have had since posting this !!

I should have kept quiet
