KD-49XF8577SU Picture Settings - Help!

Hi there, I've recently bought the Sony KD-49XF8577SU refurbished TV for £450 and I'd like to get some help setting it all up.

I had a go myself where I downloaded some calibration patterns and tried fine tuning the settings, I think I managed to improve the picture in some areas but I think I messed up in others.

Ideally I'd like to redo the picture settings with a bit of assistance. I'd like to setup picture settings for 3 main sources those being Game Mode, Sports Mode and TV Mode with the highest priority in that order. For the time being I only want to focus on getting the best picture for Game Mode primarily using the Xbox.

Game Mode - I currently have a PS4 and Xbox One S connected, I'd like to set it up so that motion is at it's best and then picture quality. I'm considering investing in a PS4 Pro or an Xbox One X if that would help improve the overall experience with motion, but at the moment my knowledge on the advantages between each console is limited.

I currently have my Xbox connected to HDMI 4 I have no idea if this supports the latest version of HDMI but in the manual it says this:

HDMI IN 1/2/3/4 (support 4K resolution, HDCP 2.2-compatible) Video: 4096 × 2160p (50, 60 Hz)*1 *2, 4096 × 2160p (24 Hz)*1 , 3840 × 2160p (50, 60 Hz)*2, 3840 × 2160p (24, 25, 30 Hz), 1080p (30, 50, 60 Hz), 1080/24p, 1080i (50, 60 Hz), 720p (30, 50, 60 Hz), 720/24p, 576p, 576i, 480p, 480i, PC Formats*3

*1 When 4096 × 2160p is input and [Wide mode] is set to [Normal], the resolution is displayed as 3840 × 2160p. To display 4096 × 2160p, set [Wide mode] setting to [Full 1] or [Full 2]. *2 HDMI IN 2/3 only. To support 18 Gbps, set [HDMI signal format] to [Enhanced format]. *3 Refer to the Help Guide for details.

This concerns me because I thought the HDMI ports would support 120hz? I was told the KD-49XF85 has a VA panel and is 120hz.

I've currently got these settings on my Xbox One S:
Resolution: 1080p
Refresh Rate: 120Hz
Allow 50 and 24Hz checked, everything else is unchecked
Colour Depth: 8 Bit
Colour Space: Standard

Picture settings on my TV are as follows:
Picture Mode: Game
Auto Picture Mode: Off
Brightness: 35
Colour: 50
Light Sensor: Off

Advanced Settings:-
Brightness:-
Brightness: 35
Contrast: 90
Gamma: 0
Black Level: 50
Black Adjust: Off
Adv. Contrast Enhancer: Off

Colour:-
Colour: 50
Hue: 0
Colour Temp: Expert 1
Adv. Colour Temp: Default
Live Colour: Off

Clarity:-
Sharpness: 50
Reality Creation: Off
Smooth Gradation: Low

Motion:-
Motionflow: Off
Video Options:-
HDR Mode: Auto
HDMI Video Range: Full
Colour Space: Auto

If anybody has any suggestions on which settings I should change I'd love to hear it, please feel free to drop a comment below, Thanks.

I don't have the exact same TV as you, I have the slightly higher spec 55XF90, but I'd have thought that you could probably have a decent go at translating these settings across to your TV.

Also on the Xbox I would set the colour depth to 10 bit so that then on the TV you can turn off smooth gradation in game mode.
