She just makes a very good living as glorified clothes horse. I n a years time she'll sell, her story and make even more dosh , so why not just ignore????Stupid media!

    Indeed.
I could point out that starting a thread on it means you've obviously been paying attention to said media but Hey ho.

Its easy to ignore the media- my device of choice is the Michell Tecnodec and a good book. Working in combo, I haven't gone anywhere near a news broadcast in nearly two weeks. The way forward.

I think its all stupid, all models snort coke. Its how they stay so slim. The whole media industry is riddled with drugs, its part and parcell. I cant see what all the fuss is about.

    My two pennies:

hate the media- scum sucking gits!! with double standards and short memories.

if she wants to snort coke then thats her choice. however it is an illigal activity and she IS in the public eye and therefore must act accordingly.

She was stupid and careless and she should really grow up - but with a boyfriend like hers that never going to happen. Cant he die of an overdose or something and prove the exception to the rule that only the talented die young.

It is the classic British media trait of build em up, knock em down. Seen it countless times before.

Gazza, Bruno, Rooney et al...fade to infinitum.......

Harsh words but well said. Evidently this darling of the music press is not the great talent the arse licking writers of NME profess him to be. Baby Shambles? More like Shambles baby.

Bloody hell, loads of people do coke, its a rich mans version of speed. I've tried it, I'd rather have a beer

    1 gram of coke = £50
    20 beers = £50

    Hmm, hard choice there

it doesnt matter if shes a role model, its hard to be a role model 24/7. im sure if there was forced drugs tests on all people , then a lot of role models would come out testing positive for drugs, i feel sorry for her, leave her be i say!

She a role model to some by default as she in a place where they want to be. Rich, successful, thin blah blah.

My two penny's worth?? I don't really care - as far as I'm concerned she can do what she likes in her own time. However as Gary D pointed out now she's been caught, it is illegal so she can't expect to be treated differently from anyone else caught using.

This is one of "celebrity obsession" type of points you and I both made in the "Britain Sucks" thread I believe.

What really annoys me is that "serious" outlets such as Ch4 News, Newsnight and Question Time (last night) have all started to cover it :thumbsdow .
    - Although I am even more annoyed that I am now spending time on this topic ! :suicide:

Then there's the hypocrisy, as we all know that plenty of "journalists", models, model agency bosses, advertising agency execs, MPs and politicians have a particular fondness for the old Columbian marching powder! ;)

I think it gets really silly when it comes down to people having a serious discussion over whether Kate should dump Pete, Kate should lie low for a while and come back stronger, etc etc.... And then you get Met Police commissioner Blair jumping on the media bandwagon?? - Jesus Christ man; you're supposed to be making our streets safer and countering terrorism, not getting involved in skinny model snorts coke story!! The police involvement is all a farce anyway, since photographic evidence proves nothing, and possession or use of coke only warrants a caution if anything these days  .

When you consider that 3.5 million people die every year due to smoking then I can't see what the fuss is all about this coke snorting, it seems a much safer thing for her to do than smoke tobacco !

we'll ignore the 1000's of people with mental problems then :)

"safer" is not a term i'd use for a class A drug.

Look at the statistics, do 3.5 million people die every year from it ? That's 10,000 a day (or about 7 per minute) I do wish the media would make more of a fuss about the drug which kills more people than any other and that figure is due to rise a lot due to the big increase in smokers in Asia.

Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't it only illegal to actually possess drugs, rather than admit to having taken them. If so, why not arrest David Bowie, Mick Jagger etc. as they've all admitted to taking drugs in the past. Can't see the difference myself!

How many people die or how how many illegal acts occur as result of the cocaine industry rather than use thereof?

Personally I am glad she got caught using it, glad she will under go police investigation and glad she is losing her contracts, because if ever my kids are in the situation where they are offered some or tempted to use then maybe, just maybe they will realise they are better off without it.
