I purchased a JVC GR-DVL767 approx. 18mths ago. The software bundle they provided does not work with Windows XP.

Can I download updated software or any other software that can be used with this camcorder for Windows XP?

Cheers,
Sean.

As long as you load the drivers first, the 767 software should run under XP. You will get a warning that it's not digitally signed but it should still work OK.

Hi

If your using Win XP, why dont you just use Windows Movie Maker ?
It's not bad if you get the latest version from the windows update site.

Thanks GaryB & Duster. I've managed to view the stills from the memory card after installing the USB driver. However, after downloading Windows Moviemaker, it doesn't seem to recognise my camcorder but it does recognise my TV card. Any advice appreciated.

Hi
How are you conecting you Camcorder to your PC?
If you have firewire, best to use that, as USB is too slow for good video.

i have a dvl-357 and i run xp.. have had no problems whatsoever. my camera cannot transfer video over USB i dont know if the 767 can, i'd presume not... it can only transfer stills from the memory card. install a firewire card, and every app that supports firewire will work fine. (i use vegas4.0 personally, hate premier.)
