    Hi all

First post from a newbie just about to enter the world of home cinema so please be gentle ; )

I am finally taking the plunge and getting my first all in one system. Some of my requirements are -

    - component video ( plan to buy a Toshiba 36ZP38 later)
    - good enough sound to listen to CDs and normal music
    - play formats like - DVD-Video, DVD-R, CD, SVCD/VCD, CD-R/RW, MP3 (CD-R/RW), Digital Still (JPEG on CD-R/RW)
    - Multi-region --- ideally no complicated hacks via remote
    - should have looks good enough for the missus to approve ;)
    - Budget around £700

Since looks were important I and the missus went around to the the local Currys to have a look and listen.

We liked the sound of the JVC QP-ES3 (£699) which qualified on the sound and looks test. The salesmand as usual could not help with more details so I looked around on the JVC site for its specs.

But there is no mention of it anywhere on the site. I did fine some others which were numbered similarly to the QP-ES code -- http://www.jvc.co.uk/product-list.php?id=15

What I need to know if the QP-ES3 is a discontinued/old model?
Are the other systems on the JVC site newer and better than the QP ES3?

Also did a quick look around but did not find an reviews for the QP ES3. Does anyone know about this system and if its any good.

Alternatively any suggestions for a system that could match my requirements.

All help and tips appreciated in advance
    cheers

The QP-ES3 is sold by Dixons/Currys only. The other models are generally available.
