This looks like the one I have been waiting for. Due to be launched by October, the new JVD LT-40DF7 seems to have the lot - a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution (I assume this will support 1080p), with a terrestrial digital tuner, a card reader, and the oh-so-important HDMI.

The only place I have seen this is HERE. Does anyone know any more about it (or know of any other models with similar specifications)?

    Oh crap!

I was sure I had read about a new 40" JVC with 1080p. Must have dreamed it.

I'll find out which, if any, 40" JVC LCDs are coming to the UK and update this thread tomorrow.

Just in case anyone is waiting for the LT-37DM6, it will be available in a few weeks. I'm testing it at the moment.

Hi Gary is the LT-37DM6 much different than the previous JVC 37" and does it still feature the BBE sound?? This or the 40" could be just the ticket I hope.

The differences between the DS6 and DM6 are that the DM6 has a multimedia card slot and fast response drive electronics for the panel. It does have BBE sound.

Why the need for another 37" TV Gary and does it have the same styling??

Are there no differences in connectivity or PC resolutions?

The only differences are the multimedia slot and the fast response electronics. Everything else is identical. The fast response does seem to make a difference. there is a demo mode built into the set which uses some scrolling text to show how it improves things. When you see the set in the shops, press Menu, yellow, then select No.1 from the demo menu to see it.

Just found out there won't be a 40" JVC LCD until March 2006 at the earliest.

Two questions please Gary: First, will the 40" be 1080p or not? Second, will the multimedia card allow MPEG4 playback (or even recording) or is it just for showing jpgs etc?

.. and a third question - is the March date just the UK, or has the entire production been put back?

Not sure yet. No details available yet.

The multimedia card will do MPEG4. The blurb says "Simple Profile" with G726 Audio.

All of Europe as far as I know. Production hasn't been put back. What we'll see may well be a new model.

I've got full details of the new range but I can't give any details (apart from the fact that there is a 1080 panel coming) until the dealers have seen them. I'll update this thread as soon as I'm allowed.

Thanks Gary - can you please at least give me an idea of when the 40" 1080p panel will be available in the UK. I want to replace my TV in time for Sky HD, but I am prepared to wait for the JVC if something is expected over the next month or two.

No details - just an ETA. Thanks.

Just checked the blurb and the 1080 panel will only be on the 47" set, not on the 40". ETA for that is not until Q3.

    1080 panel................wisely phased :(

At least its 1080, we should start to see more of these from the major's. Have to wait for 1080p inputs to be standard specification.

I have the 32" DS6 for my games room and I would highly recommend it. Would certainly want its big brother downstairs if it can display 1080p. August is a bit off but unless sky get their finger out it might not be a problem anyway. Also looks like PS3 wont be out until xmas either. Plenty of time to do research.

I presume you know that's not 1 but i - which means it'll be similar to the Philips and Sharp 45GD1 - unable to cope with a 1080p signal except the VGA port for PC hook-up.
Can this be confirmed Gary - that the VGA side of the TV can allow full native use with an appropriate GC being used?
