    Gary B,

I thought I would start a new post about this TV following your post elsewhere in these forums.

So how is this TV looking?

How are contract / black levels? Response times?

Is this just an updated 32D50 with HDMI or is it a new panel with other improvements?

With Panasonic and JVC being owned by the same company do they share LCD panels?

Any comments on this TV being one of the many new HDTV on the horizon would be appreciated by many a member looking for guidance at this time of LCD confusion! :smashin:

Looking good so far. We're just finalising some of the default values. It shares some internals with the D50 but there's some new stuff in there too. Contrast and brightness especially are looking very good. I've actually asked for the default contrast and colour levels to be reduced slightly. the screen has so much "bite" that it can be bit too fierce.

For anyone looking for (and can afford) it, there will also be a 37" set with a new fast response LCD - the LT-37DM6. No details yet though.

Gary, are you a footballing fan??? How does the screen cope with the football?

Do we have release date for this TV yet?

I need to spend the cash before the wife exchanges it for more shoes.

hi, does anyone know what connections are on this LCD panel, eg dvi or hdmi. Also the contrast and the pixel refresh rate.

I will either buy one from this, the hitachi 32LD7200 or the new toshiba. So please i need to know soon which one to buy, thanks.

The DS6 range has a 7ms response rate. I reckon that's twice as fast as normal, and considering the last range wiped the floor with a number of other makes on motion, it should be definitely worth looking at.

The other big difference is the HDMI HDCP input, it's completely HDTV ready now.

Just been on the phone to JVC.

They say that the LT-32DS6B should be in the shops from the beginning of next month.

He's been on holiday and working in Leeds last week but he's back now.

Final testing on the DS6 went well and I visited the factory a few weeks ago to finalise all of the default settings.

I'm not a great fan of LCD TVs and until I had this one at home I haven't found one that I would consider good enough to replace my old JVC AV-32WFR1 TV. This one is rather growing on me though and I'm now trying to think of excuses to hang on to it.

I've found something better than the LT-32DS6. I'm now testing its bigger brother - the LT-37DS6. Just like the 32", only bigger. On sale in a few weeks.

I was looking at the 26" version of this in Comet today. The D50 got rather mixed reviews, so I hope they've tweaked it up a bit. It's got everything I want - sober styling, integral Freeview, HDMI and plenty of other inputs. Comet are asking 1400 quid for it which seems a bit steep for a 26", the robbing gits....The other set I'm considering is the Pana 26lxd500, but I've not seen one in the flesh yet.

Yup, well the 26 is! Nice looking set too. Lady was very exited about it - " it's just come in!!" Had a look round the back and theres loads of sockets inc HDMI and component. All I need is the cash - I've been trying to sell my body for sex, but no-one seems interested...can't think why :D

Did you hang on to it?

    Still as happy with it?

Must admit, the freeview picture I saw on it in Comet today looked exceptional (was comparing with Panny TX32LXD50).

As I mentioned above, I've got the 32" and its 37" bigger brother brother at home at the moment. Both are excellent.

GaryB have you been able to try any HD games on this (like an xbox at 720p)? How is the set for this sort of usage?

Not yet. I'm not into gaming and don't even have a PS. I'll be taking the 32" back to work soon so I may get a chance to try it.

    Gary

When I looked at this set in Comet yesterday, I noticed that, despite jacking up backlight and brightness to full, it was still not as bright as sets nearby.

Probably not an issue, because my room at home is not as bright as the shop, but just wondered if you had any comments.

Also, can you default to either DTV or ATV on each switch on?

Have you tried feeding it with upscaled pictures from a HD DVD player - I was wondering how it behaves with 720P and 768P feeds?

    Thanks

    Dave

    Yes - LT-26DS6

See other thread on this forum.

Best web price around £1070 (£1400 + in the shops - Comet has them)
