This is more aimed at the video processing side of things so I´ve posted here.

JVC have this new TV (HV32D25) due for release soon and in the specs it says its capable of displaying a 1500i (NTSC) image. Is this correct or a typo (1050i)??

    Details here:

    http://193.121.210.231/JvcCons/products/ProductDetail.php?ProductID=HV-32D25EJW&Country=Gbr&Lang=En

    And here:

Seems quite impressive and would appear to be able to accept an external NTSC Progressive Scan signal as well. Look at the diagrams etc here:

Seems to be within the scanning capabilities of the the TV so not a mistake perhaps.

I think for PAL the active scanlines are 1152 @75i
and for NTSC it can be 1440 @60i

Of course the tube will not display 1440 lines well even when interlaced, I think that is pushing it too much in terms of focus, convergence, power reg, geometry etc.

But big numbers in marketing blurb excite some punters don't they!

    Hi Jase,

I saw the list price somewhere on Internet. Let me have a look to find it back ...

    [search :clown: search :clown: search]

    Aaahhh, JVC Germany:

and the list price is ........ EUR 2.499. That's the price of a TX32PH40 from Pana!

    Thanks Régis.

Unfortunately the prices are always more expensive here, both the local dealers are talking about nearer 3000 euros for this TV.

I´ll try some other dealers further away from the coast as they are usually cheaper.

    Cheers
