JVC GR-D270 safeguard mode

hi,
i have a JVC GR-D270 mini dv camcorder thats about 2 years old and has hads very little use when i got it out to use recently it is displaying the message "unit in safeguard mode remove and reattach battery" i have tried doing thi9s but it continues to display the message . Just wondering if anyone here may know how to fix it or if it needs to be sent to JVC for repair

That's a very general error message that the camera will display when it has shut down in order to protect itself. The exact cause of the problem can be determined by the Service Support Software that is available to JVC Digital Service Centres.
