I purchased a JVC AV28X4 about a week ago, only to find that, on approx 1 in 4 power-ons, the image would appear all squashed up in the top third of the screen. After managing to convince Hills Sound & Vision (aka shopathills.co.uk) that my consumer rights entitled me to a free replacement which they would have to deliver at their own expense (long story...), they've just delivered a replacement and taken away the old one.

On the replacement model, the image + audio take 30-35 seconds to appear after switching the set on (either from standby or from power-off). This also happened on the original, faulty set, but I assumed that it was related to the other fault.

Obviously I'm about to call Hills to moan at them again, but surely this can't be a 'feature' of the AV28X4? Can any other AV28X4 owners confirm that their sets do or don't exhibit this behaviour?

    Thanks
    Cliff

Have you got anything plugged into Ext2? If so, unplug it and try it again.

If it then works OK, see this thread for an explanation.
