I have the chance to get one of these TVs cheap.
However, I read that JVC has a poor quality RGB output.
Does anyone know if this is indeed the case with this new model?

    hi :hiya: ,
i work on a tech line and i can honestly say that jvc have got a bad rep lately due to the fact that most of their CRT's that they produce are in fact vestel tubes  (like the albas/matsuis/grundigs and certain toshibas) i would avoid and spend a little more on the sonys/pannys of this world. :lesson:

I think you should check your sources. JVC only sell one Vestel produced product - the AV-28GT1 television.

All other JVC TVs are made at the JVC factory in East Kilbride, near Glasgow. None of them use Vestel tubes.

    This is exactly right.

As for the R4's, the picture quality on all connections is very good. It's an extremely sharp and detailed picture.
