Does anyone know where I can get one of these sets.

Does it upconvert to any hd signals ( NSTC 480p, 720p and 1080i ets ) to its native 1125i?

    PAL AND NSTC hd formats?

It seems that the this set is a viable alternative to Pana's and the Toshiba's.

Don't think you can get it yet. I believe it comes out this month though.

The HV-32D25 can display an unprocessed progressive signal. I assume the same holds true for the new models. The set supports 1080i, dunno about 720p. Emailed JVC about it but no answer yet.

It would be interesting to know which manufacturers are good at answering emails.

We just mention the good ones.....maybe a top 5 rather than bottom 5.

In my own experience I would put Toshiba at 1 for a quick reply. Panasonic at 2 and Philips at 3. I have not emailed Sony. Philips reply but dropped markes for advise...but score marks for a follow up survey. One manufacturer who shall remain nameless did not reply at all!

Prices are great. Especially since the sets include stands.

does that mean you could connect a htpc and play the hd terminator 2 disc (and others) in hd.
what benifits would a htpc bring to normal dvd's?

That's the older model not the new ones. Incidentally it's nowhere near as bad as that review makes out. It's not forgiving of crap sources, feed it a decent source and the picture is excellent. Makes me wonder just what they use to review TV's.

I reckon this set upconverts the following HDTV component formats: 480i/p,525i/p,576i/p,625i/p, 720i/p,1125/1080i TO: 1125i through its component input at the rear of the set.

    Awaiting confirmaiton from JVC.

If so this is 1st true HD Tv available here

If it's going to upconvert the signal, it would be better if it a dvi input, to keep it digital all the way. Sadly this set does not seem to have this feature, even though it is commenly found on US models.

I see these are going for under 800 quid now. Is this the best 36" you can get for that sort of money, better then the TOSH?

This TV has been available for about two years, I have had mine for six months.

Its a Nice TV, It can handle 480p 580p, and 1080i. It does not take a 720p signal nor does it upconvert to 1080i.

The only problem I am having is during Playback of a DVD in Progressive scan I am getting a horizontal line appear for a few seconds a few times during a film. I am trying to find out what adjustments I have to make in the service menu in order to cure this.

I got this tv last year and get the same thing for about 5 seconds. It's as though the prog scan stops and this line climbs the screen to the top.

ns1col, do you have the 32" or 36"?

There are 2 people on an italian forum I read with the same problem on the 36" (playing with an xbox in 480p). One of them said he managed to reduce the problem turning the Superdigipure filter on, but I don't know if the trick resolved completely the problem.

... a few questions, I ordered this tv two weeks ago, I don't want to regret it...

    1. How often do you get that thing?
    2. And do you get it with PAL p/s or NTSC p/s (or both)?
    3. Do you get it only when you feed the tv a p/s signal or do you get it also turning on the p/s function (Theater mode) of the tv?
