    I ve been a member in this forum since last week.
    Before this I had no idea about anything regarding dvds and tvs.
    Thanks to you guys I ve learned a lot. :smashin:
    But I have some questions that i could not answer by searching in the forum.

    What s HDCP and what s scaler?

    This site: http://www.digital-cp.com/ will tell you all you need to know about HDCP.

    A scaler will take an incoming video source and convert the output to match the resolution of the display device. i.e. it will take, for example, a PLA signal with 576 lines anc 'scale' it to fit the number of lines of the display device by either adding information if the display has a greater vertical resolution or removing information if there are fewer lines.

    Plasmas and LCD's come with scalers built in but an external scaler will yield better results.
