Watched this last night - even better than it was at the flicks. The DTS soundtrack is awesome, very very lively and very very loud - it seemed louder than normal.

    Heartly recommended.

Oh and the extras seem very good too but i havent really had time to watch them all yet.

I would buy this but I have a feeling a Special Edition DVD will be released, then perhaps X-Men 2.75.

 Talk about taking it out of context. Read his post again, he wasn't saying it was "better" because it was "louder".

read it again and you're right Smurfin :)

Garyd, whats the actual sound balance like (if you have a surround system) ? - do you have to turn the centre speaker up to hear vocals comfortably over other sounds? (as seems the case for a lot of people with certain films)

This is one area i think is sadly lacking in the 'offical' magazine reviews of film soundtracks.

Generally I don't think this even needs mentioning in most DVD reviews because reviewers watch on calibrated systems (or they should). With all channels balanced properly (with an SPL meter) you shouldn't need to change anything.

During the last 100 or so DVDs I've watched, I've not changed a single thing while it's been running:)

done all the above, with AVIA, sound meter etc, and so balanced perfectly, but i still find that some film soundtracks seem to give less priority to vocals than anything else.

Agree with Gary on this one. Don't bother with the DD track - it lacks bass and punch. The DTS track is wicked (and I would much rather call myself a DD-fanboy!) I was initially worried as I couldn't find the DTS track when I started the disk, but unusually (?) it is found in the Language area of the menus. Once there, it is easy to change. Really good film too IMO. :smashin:
