Risk buy based on the reviews / remarks it got and wasn't disappointed.
Good story with the action picking up towards the end and IMHO ecellent performance by Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke.

Disc seems to be identical to the R1 release except languages and subtitles (English in DD5.1 included), good picture and sound as far as I can judge from a 19" 4:3 mono TV with composite input only. :(

Anyhow, highly recommended and it has lot's of extras, too, though I haven't bothered to check them out in detail.

I thought the ending was a bit over the top, but it's certainly a clever yarn. Well, it's the movies.... Best wishes!

Did the R3 version has the alternative ending on the disc?

Yes. And I thought that should have been the one they should have used ...

Thought it was a good movie, BUT..... Denzel Washington Best Actor Oscar ? I think not... Way too hammy - he's done far better work. Politics, politics...

Good film I thought , a bit surprise at the end part. However, I think Samuel L Jackson would have done it better.

I've had Training Day for a while but only just got around to watching it.

I noticed a couple of times when Denzel walked from centre to the left that his voice changed considerably.

I subscribe to the Uncle Eric school of three identical speakers at the front so it can't have been voice coil mismatching and therefore it must have been a production problem.

    Anyone else notice ?

They changed his voice to allow for the fact that most people dont have an identical centre speaker.;)
