This film shows what Sandler can do with a decent script and a decent director. He deserves a nomination for best actor.

    Great film

I hope this is a sign of things to come from Sandler and he doesn't revert to his usual fair

I agree, it's well worth a view and a buy when it hits the dvd market. This has great set pieces and all the usual hosts of quirk-some characters you'd expect from Anderson, he can't seem to do wrong thus far. That is apart from an, at times, intrusive 'comedic' music score which gets a bit ott during the first half.
Sandler is great in this but still plays the out-there guy, so no real stretch, though with a greater sense of depth which is aided by the accomplished Emily Watson.
    Highly recommended.
