If you're looking for a few laughs, you could do a lot worse than check out either of the comedies I caught this weekend.

Zoolander is another laugh-fest from Ben Stiller which is currently on general release and proves that there is still plenty of life in that old spoofing the fashion industry idea (it's certainly a damn sight funnier and more accurate with its targets than Robert Altmans Pret a Porter).

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (providing youn can find it, Buena Vista appears to have buried the film, with as few prints in circulation as possible) is a must see for Kevin Smith fans. All of the characters from his four previous films make appearances in this rude, irreverant comedy which is simply happy to sit around and shout profanities at Hollywood stars. Plenty of laughs, although those of you unfamiliar with Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma may wonder what is actually going on at a few points.
For those of you who care, in the Kevin Smith scheme of things, with Chasing Amy at the top, Jay and Silent Bob... ranks like this...

    Chasing Amy
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
