Just Seen Bowling for Columbine

... and what a fantastic film it is!

Written, directed by and featuring lefty american satirist Michael Moore, this really has to be one of the best documentaries ever to make it to the big screen.

It's essentially a serious, yet slightly tongue in cheek view of the U.S. Gun Totin' habit and asks why the country has the highest death rate from firearms of any country in the world.

During the film it points out several quite shocking facts/sets of statistics about the US and its policies. From reviews etc. that I've looked at, the critics seem to love it, although (possibly understandably) the US public hasn't received it that well [another reason for us "Restoftheworldians" to enjoy it perhaps? :p

I saw it last night as well, and it's as brilliant as I expected.

Doesn't give you a lot of answers, but plenty of questions. This movie should be required viewing in all US schools. It asks some very important questions.

I'm from Canada, and spent a year living in the States, and Moore's view of the news media is spot on. Honestly, the biggest difference I noticed when I moved back to Canada after spending the year in the US was the evening news.

Despite the heavy subject matter, this is still a very entertaining movie. The interviews with Nichols and Marilyn Manson are worth the price of admission alone.

In case you didn't know, Moore is doing a one-man show in London for the next few months. I'm hoping to see it soon, so I'll be sure to post my thoughts.

Was thinking of seeing this myself, makes a change from the normal hollywood drivel. Looks very good indeed.

The film obviously doesn't have the backing or marketing of a big budget hollywood flick, so I think it's important to let people know if you enjoyed it.

Saw it yesterday, and really enjoyed it 10/10. Just trying to convince all my friends to see it now is the next step :)
