Leave the brain off and watch that movie with your favorite snack and drink in reach. Wanted to sneak it at 1 in the morning but sat through the entire movie - jolly good fun! The MTV style cutting takes a bit getting used to, sometimes it fit perfectly, sometimes they should have left it.
Best scene: rockets hunting the plane. Wow, haven't seen such great flight scenes since Top Gun!

If you haven't guessed it yet:

    Hi,

I saw this over the weekend, and i really enjoyed it too. Its a pop corn movie and it aint going to win any oscars, and too many people slag film off these days.

Yes the rocket bit was amazing and the sound is incredible. The minefield scene is also really good, and the camera work with the slow-mo's is excellent. Though the fancy camerwork trailed off towards the 2nd half of the movie.

Not too sure of owens voice though, always sound like a cartoon character!!. (watch 'zoolander', with owen and stiller, a funny film!).

As far as movies go, it gets top marks from me. Anything with Gene Hackman in it generally follows suit.

I thought it was an OK film, but I couldn't help but compare it to BAT21 which I thought was far superior .

Bat21 blows this film to bits, with a heat seeker that doesn't follow planes round for a good couple of minutes
Like you said, its a pop corn movie and not to be taken to seriously, I thought the worst scene was, when Gene Hackman told the funny nose guy to go to the pick up point, when he got there Gene hackman told a techi to triangulate where his positition was  bad editing I think.
And why send him in circles for miles when his pick up point was right near his ejection seat.
While I'm at it, what about when he's running through the trip wires, all the explosions go of in front of him before he has chance to set off the trip wire
Slow mo of a baddy getting blown away, his gun crashing down all mangled up, and the good guy still only has a couple of scratches.
I'm sure there was more, I just can't remember them.
    Still... it was entertaining

p.s oh yes.. leave your mate in the middle of a big field with no cover and a big red and white parachute lying next to him :D

Same story as Behind Enemy Lines, except that it's Gene Hackman who's trapped in the jungle, and Danny Glover is the pilot who attempts to get him out. I think BAT21 is Hackmans call sign. A much better film that doesn't rely on sfx alone. Not sure when it was made, I think it was the late eighties early nighties.
