Well, I did it.............I went to see 8 Legged Freaks with a few mates this afternoon.

We knew it would be bad, afterall that's the reason we went - just to laugh at how bad it would actually be.

Unfortunately, there were few laughs between us because from start to finish, we were in sheer amazment at just how flipping dreadful this film is :D. 5 minutes in to it  and you can feel the frustration setting in, your hands start to fidget, your legs are restless, you just want to start repeatedly kicking the seat in front of you for something to do .

While the trailer did a great job of making it look crap, the actual film is about 80 gazillion billion times worse than you can possibly imagine so please please please, no matter how much you're tempted, please do not go and see 8 Legged Freaks......

I could give you one - The Mummy. Only film I've ever felt compelled to leave - and I did :).

I like the mummy .

I think it is more to do with me having a thing about egypt and history in general than the films itself .I think i would watch anything if they stuck a piramid in it . It's the only place on earth that i would like to go outside the uk. So ot could be crap but i would'nt notice

Anyone seen the scorpion king . Hav'nt seen that yet . I'm sure i will end up with the dvd no matter what anyone says though:clown:

'Eight Legged Freaks' is storming fun. What a laugh. Just a daft, fun movie that don't pretend to be anything it ain't. Your mistake groundy, was that you went along expecting - no, demanding, to see a poor film.

Great fun, if you ask me (and Empire, btw, even though I know we don't take any notice of film reviews).

'Black Knight', now there's ****e.

Take a cheap flight to Las Vegas, cheap as chips at the moment, no one seems to want to fly first couple of weeks September.
Stay at Luxor.......everything there you would get from an Egyptian holiday, without....... food poisoning, being hassled by locals, 100 degrees temps without air conditioning, and in Egypt the best sites have been built nearby rundown housing projects that spoil the view.
I visited Egypt, being fascinated by King Tut and all, it was a sh*thole, very disappointing.

Eight Legged Freaks.............we liked it :) .

hmmm well its dumb and not all that great, but it is quite fun, I have it on pre-order anyway. The Rock looks very gay tho... not that scary or intimidating.

I know what you meen . From the bit's i have seen i did think he looked a little happy;)

As for the Las Vegas trip .Never realy liked the look of Luxor. It's a bit too over the top . I know the ancient egyptians were a bit colourfull but i think even they would have needed sunglasses.
When ever anyone seems to try and recreate anything egytian it just seems so camp . It's all just too shinny and new

Anyway, back to the topic of the thread.... :D

Went with the missus to see Eight Legged Freaks on Sunday. Not bad film, but like groundy says, I did find myself getting fidgety through the film. Brought out a few chuckles throughout although dragged on too long for my liking....

A 'leave-your-brain-at-the-front-desk' type of film....

I know his eyebrows are an important part of his career, but I couldn't be scared by any man that plucks his eyebrows THAT much... he looks like a muscley Christina Augeriela for chrisssakes!

I loved the opening sequence... "Boo!" indeed... very Arnie!:D :D

Sorry to "highjack" again, but seriously Squid....is there no-where else you would like to see??????

Egypt is great, but my God there are loads of absolutely fantastic places on this planet that you should see at least once: Grand Canyon, Great Barrier Reef, Table Mountain, Serengeti, New York, Paris, Rome, Venice, etc ,etc!! Just avoid Las Vegas, it is THE seathing cesspit of human capitalism gone wrong & a perfect example of tack. If you like bricks, glass and flashing lights, it may be ok for you for about 60 mins.

Get out there mate and see something else. Patriotism for the UK is all very well, but it really isn't very interesting or different from one side to the other.

Oh, and go soon before the planet is ruined by too many people.

Sorry Mate, didn't mean to come on so strong. If you "have a problem with travel" that's your own private business and fair play to you.
