All I can say is:

Well actually I can say a lot more.
They've avoided the sequel trap!! The story is good, the jokes are new (with some old ones as well), the acting was very well errr, drawn/generated.

The voices overs were done with real feeling. Antonio Banderas and Jennifer Saunders were especially good.

There were jokes for all levels of the audience. In jokes from the first movie, from lots of other movies, the LOTR bit was excellent. I'm sure I missed some of the jokes but I know I got some few other people did. In fact for one of them, only me and my mate laughed (it was funny, trust me - a bunch of confused looks around the cinema -- bloody filmworks leaving the lights on low  )

Will definitely be getting this on DVD. Half tempted to go see it again at the cinema.

As Army_Bloke said in the Ladykillers thread, JUST GO SEE IT!!

I saw it on Saturday too. It felt like more of a kid's movie than the first (a lot less nudge, nudge, wink, wink) but Puss In Boots was good and the missus absolutely loved it.

If you have kids definately see it as they will love it!

I agree. Saw it about six weeks ago in the USA & thought it was as good as the first. Well worth a viewing & I will definitely be getting the DVD.

Found the first 15 or so minutes to be very hardgoing but after that I loved it, really funny. Definate DVD purchase.

Was the Jennifer Saunders character originally drawn with Emma Thompson in mind, she looked the spitting image.
Great film, even better than the first one.

I'll stand out then and say that I enjoyed it but wasn't that impressed. Felt it was an extension of a franchise as oposed to the original magic of the first.

I really rated the first as it was refreshingly different concept, like Toy Story.

More Police Academy 2 than Empire Strikes Back! IMO.

I'll buy the Region 1 version without Jonathan Ross. They should have left it alone instead of re-dubbing the UK version.

The Ross and Kate Thornton substitutions were absolutely daft. I'd say Joan Rivers is probably better known in the UK than Kate Thornton and it was obvious that the character was meant to be Joan Rivers. I agree the first 20 minutes were a little sluggish, but it was great fun after that.

Definitely one for R1, I'll take Larry King and Joan Rivers over JR and KT thanks.

A good & funny film; but doesn't even come close to the first film.

But, as the original is such a hard act to follow, I'll forgive them for that.

The Woss decision is beyond me, too!!!

I saw it the other night, & both my Mrs, 8 yr old & I, enjoyed it tremendously. Either it apeals on lots of levels, or.............. I think it'll be a DVD purchase, as there are so many references to other 'films', you'd have to watch it several times to catch them. Great, then I can be a kind Dad & expand my collection of good movies! & this is definatly a 'good one'. Souds patronising, but it was a very enjoyable familly film.

I saw this last night too, with Joan Rivers and Larry King intact. We obviously got the US version here. I agree not quite as good as the first but still extremely good fun, and the film references are great

Yeah, I bet some emergency "how the **** did this happen" meeting was held at the movie company this morning to discuss!

The wife and I saw the film last night and thought it was excellent. I can't remember the first one so much, but I think this one was superb. Great entertainment.
