I just got my LC26GA3E this morning from my local store. Very pleased with it. Excellent picture quality through all sources. Looking forward to having a beer (or two!!) and watching a DVD tonight.

Yep, only difference between the two are the speaker positions.

    W. Hobbs, have you taken the speaker off and hooked it up to your Bose system yet ?

Yes exactly the same. Only difference in the two models is the speaker position. 3E has speaker at bottom, 4E has speakers down each side.

Moulin Rouge DVD is running in the background awesome picture and sound. Am not going to detach speaker as I will use it for normal TV viewing.

Can you not run the Bose in stereo mode ? Or even Prologic ?

Actually, you might be able to use the GA3's speaker as a centre speaker but I don't know about the Bose system's connections.

Oh yes the Bose runs 5.1 surround sound from whatever source it is connected with i.e I can run DVD, VCR, TV/Sat. At the moment I have only have the TV not connected. I don't need to use the GA3 as centre speaker as Bose system has it own Sub and 5 satellite speakers. Absolutely brilliant sound.
I watch TV on normal sound simply as a matter of personal preference.

    Richie,
Sorry having just re-read your post I believe I misled you slightly. When I mentioned "running in the background" I meant it was running in the same room in surround sound whilst I was logged on to this forum.

    Bluud,
Hope all goes well for you and delivery arrives on Friday....enjoy!

Bluud - Got mine last week from ShopatDigital. First class service throughout with only 3 days from order to Delivery. Email and Phone calls to keep me informed all the way. Would highly recomend. Oh, and Sharp turned up in perfect condition and have been admiring and enjoying ever since. Just deciding what DVD player / Home cinema to get to make best of etc.

    Regards :smashin:

Guys, did you order the stand when you ordered your sharp? £230 is more than 25% of the cost of the screen!!! I'm kind of hoping you'll tell me it comes with a basic one???

    cheers,

    Stu

Hi guys, just wondering if any of you 26GA4E/3E owners have hooked your screens to a pc via the DVI. If so what is the quality like? I may take a trip up to JL to ask for a demo as I require an LCD tv that can also be used as a computer monitor and DVI seems to give the best result.

I got my 4e yesterday and am using it with my main pc via DVI, picture is spot on, am only running 1280 x 768 at the moment as I just plugged it in and its working. Its gonna take me a while to get used to not running in 1600 x 1200 as I do on my Dell tft, but I'd highly reccomend the Sharp.

I only bought it after seeing how many people rated it on this forum its my first LCD and so far I am pretty impressed.
